About the Blog


This is a compilation of thoughts from the Headmaster of Brainerd Baptist School in Chattanooga, TN. This blog is designed to keep students, parents, grandparents and even prospective students insight into the many things that make BBS a special place.
Because this is my blog, I will also occasionaly blog about what is going on in my personal life as well! I hope you enjoy reading, and if you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me.

What I am reading (Or have recently read) I do not do a good job of keeping this updated!

  • The Grey Wolf: The Escape of Adolf Hitler by Dunstan & Williams - The authors of this book try to prove (and they do a good job) that Hitler did not die like widely reported, but actually went to South America and died there.
  • Rain Fall by Barry Eisler - This is my first novel from Eisler and I am currently reading it and enjoying it. The setting is Japan, and Eisler heritage and knowledge of Japan make the book come alive. I am enjoying it and planning on reading some of his other books
  • The Last Man by Vince Flynn - I have read every Flynn novel. I really enjoy his writing style and content. If you like CIA based books, you will love the character Mitch Rapp! This is a great series.
  • SEAL Team Six - This book is about the SEAL team that killed Osama bin Laden and the movie Zero Dark 30 also draws much of it's background from this book. Also a great read.
  • Team of Rivals - Doris Goodwin - This is the book that the movie Lincoln was based off. It is a great book. I have read many books about LIncoln and this one gives great insight into his strategy of surrounding himself with his political rivals
  • The Leadership Challenge - Kouzes & Posner - I read this book for a class in my doctoral program and was pleasantly surprised to find it one of the better books I have read on leadership.
  • Sports Illustrated - I realize this is not a book, but I read it weekly. I have subscribed since I was a freshman in H.S. I enjoy it!

My Favorite Sites

  • Apple - I have become a "Mac Snob!" This site is great. Go ahead you PC users...just taste the kool-aid! You will love it!
  • Facebook - I am addicted to this. I was somewhat late to get into this craze. Shoot me a friend request!
  • The Chattanoogan - My favorite site for local news.
  • Brainerd Baptist School Online- Need I explain? Our school site. We strive very hard to keep it fresh and current. Check out our newly designed site!
  • ESPN.com- I visit this page at least 3 times a day!
  • Bible Gateway- Great site to find what your looking for. I use this frequently to find references
  • Today in the Word- This is my daily devotional site
  • UT Sports - If you have seen my office you understand
